|
|
i guess you thought this was about i can read hotmail from my pc with posftix and remove spam?
well no
ur wrong
this is my prob:
my email address is thepuc@hotmail.com
to test, i sent myself emails from mutt, evolution and thunderbird
and because of my junk mail settings on hotmail.com
my email goes directly into the junk folder
is there anyway of stopping this?
i have a domain at deerfield.com (www.just-mahir.com) is that helps
EDIT: something strange tho
when i change my "reply too/sender" settings from thepuc@hotmail.com to puccaso@aol.com
it doesnt go to my junk mail folder on msn..
is that an msn thing? (cos it can see whether the email was actually sent via hotmail or not:?)
any gurus willing to help? _________________ "wa ma tawfiqi illah billah"

this is part of a new antispam solution, which name I don't remeber ...
The consequence is that only hotmail's smtp server can send mail for adresses in @hotmail.com to the smtp servers that follow this new solution. in fact when your mail arrives at the htomail smtp server it checks if the domain of the sender (htomail or aol) has a dns record that says 'this is our mail server'. Note that this dns record has to be setup in a certain way and this is described in the doco of this antispam thing... now if aol hasn't got this dns record your mail can't be checked as spam and is delivered, in the case of hotmail, the dns record of hotmail explains that your postfix isn't the real smtp server of hotmail, and this could be a spammer using @hotmail addresses and a personal smtp server, so they just consider you are spam !
The best thing with this antispam thing is that it breaks mail forwards !
I don't know how to solve your problem ...
[EDIT]I googled a bit and found the name again: it's called SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
