Hey there,
NO, I can't help. But what I have read is that fluxbox does NOT play very well with others. Flux is a pretty full-featured wendow environment.

Did you ever get this working? How can I check to make sure fluxbox has gnome support? I'm looking to setup gnomepanel on my fluxbox install. Any tips? _________________ http://www.atomicraygunattack.com |

Ok, ive got gnome-panel installed. All I need to do is set it to run when the machine is booted into FluxBox...what's the trick for that? I'd like Fluxbox's ugly littl ebar to not load at all also. I assume somewhere I just tell it in a script somewhere...but I don't see it in .fluxbox/init and im not sure where else to look. Anyone have any help? Thanks!!! _________________ http://www.atomicraygunattack.com |

Remove Fluxbox's ugly little bar? You mean the toolbar? Inside the init file, there's a line that says:
Code: |
session.screen0.toolbar.visible: true
|
Think it could be related to your problem somehow?
As for starting other things together with Fluxbox, the only way I've managed to do that is by adding the things up in ~/.xinitrc (I hope ya know how to do that... no?) Um... maybe not, but just to be sure, the end of your .xinitrc probably says
You would instead put
Code: |
gnome-panel &
fluxbox
|
(or whatever the executable for gnome-panel is)
Fancy thing is that I just switched from Flux to Pekwm, and I am currently trying to find out how to get my "ugly little bar" back |

Yea, that all worked. Now I am having the same problem as the original poster where the window list will not show any running aplications. Doh. _________________ http://www.atomicraygunattack.com |
