start slapd with error "No passwd entry for user ldap&q

Hi,
I have just installed openldap ,
I am sure that what have i done was excatly fit the
Gentoo Guide to OpenLDAP Authentication document
on the gentoo.org.

but after i follow it do step by step.
everything was ok,but

#getend passwd| grep 0:0

cannot reply anything,

and

#/etc/init.d/slapd start

cannot sucess!

i have read the system log in /var/log/message

that's what it said:

Mar 25 04:30:02 hartt slapd[7076]: No passwd entry for user ldap
Mar 25 04:30:17 hartt slapd[7119]: No passwd entry for user ldap

anybody who knows what has happened?
