Hi, I am currently using windows to write songs on my computer using, among other things, Reason 2.5. So, my question is: Does anyone know how audio programs perform if used through something like Wine etc.? or can they even run natively in linux or somthing.
Thanks in advance. |

People definitely have had some success...I haven't any
expierence. Two points 1) check the linux-audio-user/dev
archives (too lazy to find link at tux.org I think). 2) Check out the
native options like ardour rosegarden muse hydrogen...maybe
not as polished yet but if you have time take the plunge. Jack
allows you to sync all these apps together. |

Hi, last time I tried using Reason under Wine, it didn't work. I just tried it again, and it didn't work, but I don't think I have wine configured right at the moment. Reason makes heavy use of midi and the sound card and I don't know whether that stuff is translated properly yet by wine. Good luck. _________________ Use saferdomainsearch.com to safely search for domain availability. |
