Ok I have a HP Scanjet 5100C. I checked the sane database and it is supported. Now, how do I get it to work. It operates off of the parallel port. So, I attach it and try to cat it and it gives me I/O Input outpur error. Also, from dmesg, I get: ppdev0: registered pardevice ppdev0: unregistered pardevice. This scanner does have the pass through port(where you plug your printer into). i haven't tried plugging my printer into it to see what happens, but both the printer and scanner need the parport. Any help will be appreciated. |

Didn't feel like clicking edit. Ok, I plugged my parport printer into the scanner and the printer works! YAY! So, now I think I just have driver issues and need help on getting it set up in Gentoo. |
