I have a P4C800 + P2.8C (with Hyper Threading Enabled in the Bios). When I boot on the LiveCD to install Gentoo 2004.0, I choose SMP. But there I have a black screen. So I tested with the option acpi (I've read this in the forum) but I still have a black screen...
Can someone help me ?
I have another problem. When I boot from LiveCD with normal (boot : gentoo) kernel, I can't see my hard drives (My Hard Drives are IDE in a material Raid Array, mode 0). Do I have someting to add to the kernel options to find my hard drives? I have tested doataraid but it doesn't work...
Thanks for helping me ...
:(

At boot, I would try "smp-nofb" , so you will get an SMP kernel without framebuffer support.

I've seen all kinds of strangeness when trying to use framebuffers, and even when it works, it slows down the console tremendously.

I'm not sure about the unseen disks, however.

Interesting how many things you can pass to the kernel.

Anybody know of a full list?
