OK, like many other High School seniors I will be shoving off for a university after I graduate, and I intend to buy a new laptop on which to work (play games) research (play games) and take notes (play games, get the idea )
Anyway, I am really really interested in getting a Centrino notebook, mainly because I like how cool they run and the battery life is quite nice. I want it to be reasonably fast (have to compile my favorite linux OS) and also to have 3D support (for my.........uhhhhh work). WiFi is also a must have because my campus offers wireless networking. Price is also of course a factor (Around $1500 US would be great).
So in a nutshell I am asking for anyone who has had Centrino success to post any reccomendations that i can follow up with some research.
Thank YOu in advance--

I really like my IBM T41.
For the setup http://www.linux-on-laptops.com might interest you. Additionally search this forum for the about two hundred threads on which laptop to buy |

well the million other threads on what latop to buy, dont really focus on a centrino machine, and the threads that focus on centrino machines seem to only be about problems. That is why I was hoping for some insight from the community.
I will check out the T41, how is its 3D accel?
ANy other ideas? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have somthing to say, folls because they have to say somthing."

I heard nothing good about Centrinos - you better avoid them at any cost.
I'd also recommend an IBM Thinkpad. |
