|
|
I have been getting my system more and more correct with each re-compliation, but I broke it last night. My most recent alterations were to correct the IDE drivers to via82xx as described in a recent post.
Having re-compiled etc, what I now get when I re-boot is:
Loading Gentoo ......
BIOS data check successful
Uncompressing Linux
Invalid compression format (err =2)
- - system halted
I copied over the .config.old file and re-comiled again, but get the same error. So if it is a corrupt .config, I've done it to my backup too - didn't keep a copy, silly boy.
Any help anyone?

don't know what it is for grub | Just run "grub" from root shell. It gives you a prompt for stuff. _________________ HOW DO I SHOT WEB |
