|
|
Ok, i finally got Gentoo up and running but fsck won't run (fsck.xfs no found) and my eth0 errors out (netmount not found ??).... i think the reason my eth0 isn't working is because i just did a genkernel all and for some reason my eth0 drivers are non-existant. Anyway, i used the vanilla-sources for a test run, now i want to switch to the ck-sources and hopefully do it the right way.
Anyone who can tell me or point me in the dir of how to compile the kernel? I have the installation manual printed out but i'm confused how i emerge the kernel, get it to use my configuration, and then compile it.
My Guess -
Code: |
::boot off of LiveCD since my network doesn't work
emerge ck-sources
rm /usr/src/linux && ln -s /usr/src/ ??????? /usr/src/linux
cd /usr/ck-sources directory
make menuconfig
:: configure kernel
make dep && make bzImage modules modules_install
cp .config /boot/ckconfig

That Right? Man being a n00b sucks...
