Hi,
I've been planning to buy a new graphics card to replace my crappy old Geforce 4 MX440 for a while now. A PC gaming magazine I subscribe to has given the XFX 5900 XT the editor's choice award, and it looks as if I'll be able to afford it. Would you buy the card? It's about £143 (approx. $260). I plan to use it in both Gentoo and Windows for gaming. Will it work well with the Linux nvidia drivers, on new/upcoming games like UT2004 and Doom 3?

If you wait about half a year..... PCI-E will be out and they will be pushing that, and when they push things prices go down. Also use www.anandtech.com and www.xbitlabs.com . They have the best reviews anywhere.
