Hi all,
recently moved to a 2.6.3 kernel (love the inbuilt alsa support, no setup at all ). I get a small problem when kde apps play notification sounds (like k3b's CD Finished trumpet, etc): it halts whatever XMMS is playing at the time and it takes XMMS about 15 seconds to re-assert itself and continue playing. I think i may have XMMS using the wrong drivers: it's set to ALSA, should ti be using eSound or OSS?
Any hints? _________________ Zak: Luke's making a 3D interface for Linux"

If you want to keep using artsd, you'll probably want to take a look at media-plugins/xmms-arts.
I disable arts, which keeps it from getting in the way of xmms entirely, since I couldn't care less about KDE's various beeps and bloops. _________________ Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.
