Moin,
ich habe gerade VMware installiert. Mein CD-Laufwerk ist leider defekt, nun dachte ich mir, ich könnte die CD einfach von einem anderen Computer mounten und bei VMware das gemountete Verzeichnis als CDRom-Laufwerk angeben. VWware "merkt" aber, das es sich nicht um ein richtiges CD-Rom Laufwerk handelt und verweigert das Booten von dem Medium. Kann ich dies irgendwie ändern?

erstell Dir doch einfach eine Imagedatei von der CD.
Davon kann VM-Ware dann problemlos booten!

habe auch gerade gesehen, das dies Möglich ist. Werde ich dann wohl mal testen. thx.
