I'm using the KDE CVS ebuilds, but lately the CVS checkout has been taking a worring amount of time - I'm on 1MBit cable and it takes +3hours to check out kdelibs from anoncvs.kde.org, earlier I was able to checkout the anything from that server in minutes.
what can be the cause of this?
When I checkout something new it looks like this:
Checkout fine for a few secs... files flies by, then the whole thing stops and it just waits for like 2-3 minutes - then it resumes for a few secs and so on and so forth.. |

Load on the server?
Don't cvs have some compress flags? Are you using them?

Using standard compress flags for anoncvs.kde.org (-z4) as set in the ebuilds.
but I doubt it's load on the server beacuse every single cvs server I've tried is that slow, what could I have done to cause this ?? |

Funny thing is that bitkeeper and rsync seems to be running as fast as normal - it's only CVS that's affected |

Have you checked for any bugs in your CVS version?
Mine seems to work.
