Got good full install, had to recompile kernel for a module

and now when LILO boots I get:

Loading Gentoo............................................


and that's it. Just hangs. Kernel 2.6.4_rc1.

I use the LiveCD to get my partitions mounted to recompile the kernel again, to look for a log file, to try anything.

Can someone point me in the right direction for figuring out what's wrong and how I can fix this?

Have you re-run /sbin/lilo since you installed your last kernel image?

That was it. I had no idea that needed to be done (was it in the installation guide for installing LILO? quite possible).
