Wondershaper Help

I've been trying to get Wondershaper working on my box for the last two days now, and no matter what directions I follow, it won't load, usually with one of the following errors:

RTNETLINK answers: File exists
RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument

I've made sure I have all QoS components compiled into the kernel and made sure I had iproute2. I'm running the 2.6.3 kernel (gentoo-dev-sources), and really I'm out of ideas. Please help. :\

The last release of the Wonder Shaper (http://lartc.org/wondershaper) was in April 2002. It looks pretty dead upstream.

Why don't you give Jim diGriz's QoS Script (http://digriz.org.uk/jdg-qos-script) a try? I've yet to install it myself as I only came across it a couple of hours ago, but it seems that it has all the capabilities of Wondershaper and more besides, and has the additional advantage of being actively developed and maintained.

well there is a very useful ebuild for wondershaper:

usually any errors just mean that there is some module or other that you forgot to enable. with the modded htb version that I use ( http://andthatsjazz.org:8/lartc/ultimate.html ), these are the modules that get loaded:

sch_ingress
cls_u32
sch_sfq
sch_htb

but it seems like I will have to check out this new ratinox version that syntaxis mentioned...very cool. it is definitely sad that no-one has been maintaining and updating wondershaper.

Thanks a bunch funkmankey, I was looking all over for someone who actually knew the correct modules for wondershaper. I was having the same problem and loading those mods fixed it.
