I just got to stage three of the gentoo 1.4 install, ready to install the kernel and everything, however, when I emerged the gentoo-sources kernel tree there was no xfs support so I unmerged it, nuked the directory and started again...still no dice. Then I emerged the xfs-sources which of course do support xfs but none of the neat features that the gentoo sources support. So I'm between a rock and a hard place. Did someone mess up a script somewhere? I know the gentoo sources are supposed to have xfs support.
Any Clue? |

Yeah it seems I was so frustrated I forgot to check the announcements. The only remaining pertinent question is why is it in the install guide. Part of me would rather have the gcc 3 optimizations and low latency than xfs. |
