Hi all,
I dont do (any) printing from linux, but need lpr (and thus cupsd) to run because i am using dvips to convert a LaTeX .dvi file to Post Script. whenever i run lpr i get an annoying:
Code: |
lpr: error - scheduler not responding!
|
That i can't get arround. I've added cupsd to the default run level and am running cupsd as a process (ps -fA | grep cupsd). I'm not sure what the problem is. The command 'lpstat -r' returns:
Code: |
scheduler is running
|
So i'm all out of ideas . I am sick of sshing into a working SunOS box just to convert .dvi to .ps! _________________ Zak: Luke's making a 3D interface for Linux"

Hmmmmm. I just tried this:
Code: | root@smoker /usr/src/linux # echo > "hello there" /dev/lp |
It takes up a piece of paper then sits there. After a while it spits it out blank.
What up with that? It works with everything else. My command wrong maybe?
