I too am getting this error, and I'd like to know how it can be resolved so I can get mod_pho installed.

Anyone got any ideas?

Same problem here!
And a thread about this problem has been opened at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=137187&highlight=bloopers+modphp as well.

I was also having this problem, but it looks like mod_php-4.3.5.ebuild has been updated in the last few hours, replacing the failed patch with a 4.3.5 specific one.

I have now suceesfully emerged it and it is running fine.
