There are many options out there.
I would normally use scp (ssh copy (secure)), or ftp to move the files.
NFS would work, but I'm not sure if that's the best option as you're not really moving the files, just opening up access, which wouldn't be all that fast over Dialup.
If you want secure NFS try out shfs, there is a shfs package for gentoo. SHFS is a ssh filesystem, so it's totally secure.
If the files are constantly going to be updated you could try sync. Not emerge sync, but there's an application called sync that will check which files have been updated and copy/overwrite those only. Good luck. |
