All i want is a PHP/mysql website that can use sendmail to send ... MAIL!

and postfix sure as hell didnt work.
no now i just want sendmail, but i keep getting the above message

anyone have a clue?

removing the postfix-script from /etc/init.d/ should help...

I like postfix, it's always worked for me... But if you want to switch you need to remove postfix from the startup scripts with the command rc-update del postfix default.

Assuming that you have unmerged postfix:
Code:
# emerge -C postfix
then protected config files will have been left in /etc/init.d and /etc/postfix. Just delete /etc/init.d/postfix and manually run depscan.sh.

found something, deleted it from the Virtuals
(dont know anymore where those are)

but in the virtuals postfix and ssmtp were still in the file, causing it to block sendmail away
