|

I need to modify Mozilla to run at 1280x1024 and I need to take away all buttons except for back forwar home and an adress bar. I also need to lock it down to the desktop so that it isn't able to close or resize.
I know its a VERY strange request but its for a project at school. Is there an easy way to do this? Or will it require a massive amount of scripting?

I believe mozilla has a kiosk mode which I believe is what you need. If not, there's a few extensions for Mozilla Firefox which do this. I've never set it up though, so I can't help you with configuration. |

Not very much scripting.. you would just have to modify mozilla chrome file...
I belive most of your questinos could be answered here:
http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html
Not sure about disabling close action.. I think you could remap keys bindings and remove alt+f4 action.. _________________ while true; do eject /dev/cdrom; eject -t /dev/cdrom; done |

Thanks for your reply's! The kiosk mode and the website worked perfectly.
Now I have to disable alt+f4 and get rid of the buttons for it. _________________ Ph33R mY l337 H|_|R|) 0F G|\||_|Z!! |

You might be able to do that by catching all keypresses and not returning them to the event bubbler.
But it's still not a fool proof way of securing a desktop. If you've got the time, look at KDE's kiosk mode. _________________ Excelsior! |
