I think I have the problem described here

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=135657&highlight=k3b+0+11+6

But now every time I start up I have 3 k3b splash-screens on my desktop and 3 processes that wont die.

Code:
bash-2.05b$ ps ux | grep k3b

Can anyone tell me how to kill these? And how to make sure they dont come back...

Thanks
Anders

I had the same problem a few days ago and i believe you can keep these processes from reappearing by deleting the appropriate lines in ~/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc
There will be lines like restartCommand3=k3b,-session,9875668....

Just delete all restartCommand lines containing k3b and all other lines with the same number, i.e. restartCommand3, program3, etc...

I killed those processes by rebooting :( (or restarting kde, i don't remember...)
