touchpad + psaux problem

hello!
i can't get my touchpad mouse working in gentoo
i have Fujitsu Siemens A-7600 laptop

When i do
Code:
cat /dev/psaux
and "move" the touchpad, nothing happens (also gpm and XFree doesn't work with the mouse)

i tried to do
Code:
cat /dev/psaux
in gentoo live-cd, and there it works, i get data on the screen, and gpm is also working

i compiled psmouse and others to kernel.
complete kernel configuration can be found at http://nappula.net/KERNEL_CONFIG.txt
It's 2.6.4 kernel

Any ideas how to get touchpad working??

Well, I've got the same touchpad and get it working :). So first you've to download the driver and install them.
Code:

emerge synaptics
make


Now if you're root you could use "make install" so the driver is copied to "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/".
After that you've to update your X11 configuration file ("/etc/X11/XF86Config"):

Also you've to make sure that the module "evdev" is loaded. If part of the kernel. So if you have compiled that as a module you've to load them by using "modprobe" (This module isn't loaded by default).

Think that's all ... if you got problems anymore just post again.
