Hi, I was just wondering if someone could give me some info about how to install the gaming kernel, right now im using vanilla-2.4.24 and I used genkernel to compile it but I wanna manually compile my next kernel, where do I start? can I just open my term up an emerge gaming-sources then follow the setps in the handbook? I have no idea really where to start with this so even a good link would be great. Also i've gotten this same error after 2 installs and i've searched high an low with no real info on how to fix it.
depmod: *** unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.24/kernel/drivers/net/wan/comx.o
I tried ikaro's solution already was rm them, well thats what lead me to the second install, my gentoo was toast and wouldn't start at all, at least not with my amount of gentoo knowledge. Anyhow any help on either of theses would be great

Follow this manual: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=3913
I always use it (upgrading kernels every week )
There are two important moments: you have to remove your /usr/src/linux symlink and cteate new, pointing to the right kernel (ln -s /usr/src/linux-X.X.X /usr/src/linux) and perform a make mrproper before compiling a new kernel. |
