emerge grub results in:

well.... i am at a loss to what this means (except the mount part, which i did!). Basically the same thing comes up with emerge lilo. Any Suggestions??

can you try to emerge something other than a bootloader and does it do the same thing?

if so so a:
Code:
whereis ebuild.sh


and post your results here along with the contents of your PATH variable.

echo $PATH


I had a problem similar to this when getting X to work.

`ls -l /sbin/functions.sh`shows anything. If it say "ls: /sbin/functions.sh: No such file or directory", you may try to emerge baselayout again.

emerging anything else works fine; i emerged the whole system not two hours before i started grub

Check you make.conf for erronious stuff.

allright echo $path results in:

and ls -l /sbin/functions.sh gets:
