|
|
Using the LiveCD 2004 on a Compaq laptop, it will hang during the reboot process. It hangs on "Stopping USB and PCI hotplugging..." If I hit enter, I am back at the shell prompt. If I type reboot again it says "Restarting System." Then nothing else and the system reboots. This doesn't seem right, does anyone know if this has any adverse effects? And if it does this in the lLiveCD will it be a problem upon installation? One more question, I notice in the various kernels available there is a compaq kernel, should I be using that when I install gentoo?
Thanks for your help. |

I had this issue to when I had a USB camera plugged in while installing gentoo. When I tried to reboot it hung at that same point.
Try simply unplugging any external plug and play devices, USB, etc. (assuming you are not using a usb mouse/keyboard) _________________ Come and play in my land |

The usb device I am using is a Cable modem so i would rather not have to unplug it each time I reboot. I tried removing it pre-reboot, but it just hangs sooner. |
