|
|
After i emerged gnome-base/gnome-2.6-rc5 sound preview has stoped working in nautilus.
I've had this problem before with nautilus 2.4.2 and fixed it with emerge mpg123, but remerging mgp123 did not help this time.
Is nautilus 2.6.0 using some other library that im missing? |

I have yet to try 2.6.
However when this issue presented it self in 2.4 I re-emerged Nautilus with USE="gstreamer" |

I don't use sound preview but i had problems with volume-control and sound-record and they use the AFAIK also gstreamer.
On my machine merging the new versions gst-plugins-oss fixed the problem (the gnome 2.6rc5 ebuild didn't installed it). |

Emerging the latest version of gst-plugins-oss worked great.
Thanks for the tip! |

Just noticed another file preview problem with nautilus 2.6. It failes to preview video files for some reason. It looks like i tries because the icon looks lika a white paper with a clock on it for a few seconds when it tries to get a screenshot from the video file. But it failes and goes back to the standard video file icon.
Anybody else have this problem? |

Yes. Emerging gst-plugins-ffmpg fixed that for me.
The sound preview is still not working for me. Sometimes nautilus-audio-preview crashes, sometimes i only get 100% cpu-load.
I tried re-emerging mpeg123, gst-plugins-oss and nautilus with gstreamer-uselflag. |

The sound preview is working for me with mp3s but not with ogg files. It has never worked with ogg files though. Not even in older versions. |
