Did a stage 3 install today.

Went through the install guide (a few times now) followed all the steps..
Code:
exit; cd /
# umount /mnt/gentoo/boot /mnt/gentoo/proc /mnt/gentoo
# reboot


Everything seemed to work alright, Grub starts up fine and I can boot to windows if I want to.

Problem is that when I try to load Gentoo it hangs here:

and then hangs there. I let it sit for about 40 min while searching for a solution at one point and there was no change.

Any ideas on where to start with fixing this or what the problem might be?

I guess no one has any ideas what this even means then, huh?

I've tried going back through the install process and can't figure out where I went wrong.

try booting while passing "noacpi" to the kernel. See http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=_STA+and_INI&btnG=Google+Search

it seems to have something to do with the acpi functions...
