I get a yellow circle, indicating:

You have not recieved any incoming connections from other. It may only be because no one has tried. If you never see the status light turn green, it may indicate your system is behind a firewall or proxy server. Please look into routing BitTorrent through your firewall in order to recieve the best possible download rate.

How do I do that? I have a linksys befsx41, I've never really messed with the preferences, don't know that much about them. Do I need to change stuff there?

Thanx,
Stan

Hmm, what is the applications name? I'm running bittorrent s-5.8.11 (SHADOW's experimental), or at least that what the about says. Do I need the correct app name for my router? The status isn't changing.

Thanx,
Stan

Oh, I just had to restart bittorrent, wow, now I'm downloading at 200/k a second, before I was only doing 1-3.

How dangerous is it opening these ports? Should I close them when I'm not useing bittorrent?

Thanx,
Stan

It's relatively safe. Most people leave them open. If you happened to have other services that also use those ports (probably not) then close it.
