I have a brand new Gentoo install (1.4) running in VMWare. Recently, I lost my net connectivity with a failure to load 3c59x module error. I was told elsewhere to recompile the kernel with my net card support included in the kernel (non-modular.) I did so, and my net support is back. The problem is that I still get the error when I boot. I read somewhere that 3c59x is support for 3com cards. I don't have any 3com hardware on my machine. (VMWare emulates a PCNet32 card, and my machine has a Realtek card in it) How can I get this to stop? |

Is there a line in /etc/modules.autoload that is still trying to load this module? If so, remove it. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
