I have a very old monitor I'm trying to get working... but I believe it's MGA, not VGA... has anyone here ever used a monitor like this? Is ti necessary to have an MGA video card, or are standard cards backwards-compatible?
I've enabled all the areas of the kernel that seem relevant, but the screen is still blank.
Is it possible to run the monitor from a Matrox G450's second port?
Thanks!! _________________ s/(?<!gnu\/)linux(?! kernel)/GNU\/Linux/gi
Don't blame me. I didn't vote for him.

It's bothersome that matrox' driver goes by "mga" in addition to this antiquated graphics mode. My google searches always turn up driver issues instead. _________________ s/(?<!gnu\/)linux(?! kernel)/GNU\/Linux/gi
