I have a sort of ltsp setup where my diskless clients will download my 2.6.15.1-r1 gentoo-sources modified kernel and mount a shared root lfs directory where I have them being my diskless compute nodes... its like and ltsp boot.. my client(s) boot fine in the end.. but it takes like 5 min because I keep getting
NFS: server 192.168.1.1 not responding... retrying
NFS: server 192.168.1.1 OK
anoying spam.. and I thought this might be the fix http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/NFS#NFS_Server_not_responding
but it doesn't work.. anyone else have any ideas or have the same problem with using the 2.6 kernel for client boot? |

How many nodes are you trying to boot at once? NFS scales like crap. If the server is too bogged down the NFS client will think the server is not responding. Then eventually it does. |
