Hello,
I just intalled alsa support VIA the online tutorial and everything seems to be in working order. However when I run the aplay command on a WAV file I get this error msg:

Does anyone know why this is happening. I searched the boards and no one else seems to have this problem. I'm using the Ensoniq ES1371 sound driver.

| what about mpg321, are you able to play sound with that one? |

Try:
| Code: | | # aplay -D plug:hw:0 <filename> |
to make sure its not a file -> device format problem. |
