Damm i got 755 mb of ram yes its not the best memory availible but i dont think that Gentoo should take about 400 of it in X what the heck??? Does anyone has any ideas? My mothers xp is taking less and she is only using 256 mb of same crap memory _________________ Gentoo 2005.0

unless you are having problems with applications being paged out to the swap file too often then using as much ram as possible is a good thing... whats the point of ram if its going to be empty all the time? |

the free command gives me this no i cant actvate the swap heheheh

and yes of course the ram is going to be used but when i had only 256 mb of ram i copuldnt to anything the computer went really slow!! And i thought Linux was less memory taking than wintendo _________________ Gentoo 2005.0
