I found this toshiba (targus? some searches found some interesting links to targus' website with manual information, it's for v.2.0 of the device, w/o passthrough) device a few days ago and thought I'd try it out. It's a 21-key numeric keypad. It's used, so I'm not sure if it even works. It's serial, with a passthrough. Though I've got a full desktop keyboard, and don't own a laptop I figured that if I could use some sort of application that did macros off of a key tap from the device it would really rock.
I've xxd'd both /dev/ttyS0 and S1, but when hitting any of the keys it simply doesn't output anythin at the terminal. Unfortunetly there aren't any power LEDs on it.
If anyone could give me some advice as to what I should use as macro software (if any exist) and how to test to see if it's even a working device that'd be great.
Device info:
NoteWorthy Numeric Keypad with Pass-Through Serial Interface
FCC ID: EFXGEN0627
It says towards the bottom of the info sticker on the back: Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.
Thanks. _________________ Beauty is in the eye of beholder, idiocy I guess, is too. |
