** WARNING **: alsa_setup(): Failed to open pcm device (hw:0,0): Device or resource busy

You are probably using arts with kde, which reserves the sound. Under xmms preferences select arts driver as the output plugin (emerge if not existing). Also try experiment with the other output plugins. _________________ There are no answers - only cross-references. |

Strenge
You can try
Code: | lsof | grep pcmC0D0p |
to see which processes use this device
If you have not lsof
so
it is a quite good peace of software and I think that it can help you in many cases. _________________ Pentium4 2.4Ghz 533Mhz, Intel® Desktop Board D845GEBV2 + LAN, 768MB DDR 266Mhz RAM, 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440, SB Live! 5.1, TEAC CD-552E, TEAC DW-548D, Packard Bell 1512SL Monitor, HP DeskJet 640C, Opti UPS PowerPS 800ps. |
