OK. When I use applications that output to stderr--I think KWrite does this, for example--they output to the terminal that I opened the app in! So I'm sitting there jollily typing code, when all of the sudden "libao - OSS cannot set channels to 1" scribbles itself to the screen.
And it does it again. And again. And ...
How can I stop them?!?! It's driving me insane. Especially when I type a command and I get CUT OFF by one of them. |

To put progs in background from a terminal (that is what I am guessing you are trying to do), I use:This directs all the command's output to nohup.out in the dir you ran the command from. _________________ All reality is the construct of the observer.
