|
|
Hi,
i just tried some new X-configuration (dualhead with ATI 9000 mobile) and now my screens go black after startup.
I tried to kill X (CTRL-ALT-Backspace) but this doesnt help.
Can i disable x via boot option ?
Any suggestions ?
Thank in advance |

You can start the system in single-user mode like so:
Then disable X in /etc/rc.conf, or in /etc/runlevels/default.
Or - if you want more control - you can make your own runlevel, say noX, and put everything except X in there... _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

do you mean no graphic login managers?
"rc-update delete xdm" will give you console login (removing the graphic login manage from run levels). |
