hi all,
after one week, I run "emerge sync" this morning on one of my machines. This stopped at:
Code: |
>>> Updating Portage cache... ...done!
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 2250, in ?
reload(portage)
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 6128, in ?
settings.regenerate() # XXX: Regenerate use after we get a vartree -- GLOBAL
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 1392, in regenerate
self.configdict["auto"]["USE"]=autouse(db[root]["vartree"],use_cache=use_cache)
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 1121, in autouse
myresult=dep_check(mydep,myvartree.dbapi,None,use="no",use_cache=use_cache)
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 3309, in dep_check
mylist=flatten(dep_listcleanup(dep_zapdeps(mysplit,mysplit2)))
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 3052, in dep_zapdeps
myresult=dep_zapdeps(unreduced[x],reduced[x])
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 3038, in dep_zapdeps
elif myportapi.match(x):
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'match'

Now, emerge is broken .. on every run (with any options) it's exiting with:
Code: |
scotty root # emerge
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 14, in ?
import portage
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 6128, in ?

self.configdict["auto"]["USE"]=autouse(db[root]["vartree"],use_cache=use_cache)
File "/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage.py", line 1121, in autouse
myresult=dep_check(mydep,myvartree.dbapi,None,use="no",use_cache=use_cache)

On another machine the "emerge sync" and "emerge -U world" worked. There is an update for portage available. Perhaps this caused the problems?!
This should be the portage versions on my broken machine:
Code: |
sys-apps/portage
selected: 2.0.50-r1
protected: 2.0.50-r3
|
Hope anyone can help me and greetings from Germany, Volker |

On another machine the "emerge sync" and "emerge -U world" worked.
What is the difference between the working and non-working machine? Different portage versions? _________________ Gentoo Linux - Feel the speed.

uhm, it worked on my workstation which has some ~x86 builds installed. it failed on my fileserver which is almost stable.
in fact, the portage versions i've posted are from my workstation but this should be the versions on my fileserver cause i'm mostly updating all machines at one time. |

Both the existing install that failed for me and the new install are a stable servers. I'll try it on one of the ~x86 workstations and see what happens... _________________ Gentoo Linux - Feel the speed.

Almost the same problem here.
I did a emerge -p world to check what new update where avaible.
After that I did a emerge sync and now it's all broken. I can't use emerge any more. |

Same problem here.
I unpacked the rescue portage tree and tried again and it is still broken. |
