just a thought, but it seems to me that a many of the questions on the boards (not too many, but enough to notice) that start with "why cant i see package X?" get answered with, "did you recently emerge rsync?"
so why not just add such a command in a scipt in cron.daily? Or even con.monthy would be somewhat reasonable.
I realize that this is kind of catering towards the "dumber user", but it's not like it will do too much harm, it wont even get run until someone installs one of the cron packages anyway.
what do you guys think? |
