I wanted to try out the newly available xorg-x11-6.7 as an XFree alternative.
Has anyone had success migrating already? Do the DE's and programs (especially glx applications) work with it? What about drivers (nvidia)? |

Hi,
just few hours ago I killed XFree on my PC and installed x.org, works perfect.
I have a radeon 9800 pro, 3D is working as usual, no idea how nvidia is supported...
I think there are several threads around here handling xorg & installation, perhaps you find a posting for nvidia support, too.

I think this was a hot discussion since the day they came up with their licensing stuff
-perhaps not x.org but ANY alternative to XFree
