|
|
1) How can i save all of my emails in windows and put them on my desktop now which is linux?
2) In KDE 3.2 how can i get the trans menus and such?
3) When i am using Gaim and someone IMs me and the window isnt focused it does not blink. How can i get it to blink? I have to keep checking back on the window and it gets aggrivating after a lil while.
Ill probably have more later. _________________ www.EternalFireProof.com

I have gaim set to pop up windows when I get messaged. It's a tad annoying if you're working on more than one desktop, or working seriously at all for that matter, but I don't generally IM that much in any case. _________________ a^2 + b^2 = c^2

There is a plugin for GAIM that adds a string to the front of the Window Title when someone IMs you. So it might change from "Screenname" to "[1] Screenname" showing that they have sent one message since you last looked. Not quite what you want, but better than nothing. |

By the way, as for your e-mails, what client are you using? If Eudora, it's easy. It Outlook, it's a little more challenging. There is this project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ol2mbox but it hasn't seen development in quite some time. I was able to use it with reasonable success to convert my Outlook PST file to an mbox format file, which Thunderbird can read. Also, I think Thunderbird for Windows may be able to import mail from Outlook, in which case you could export it as mbox and copy it over to your Linux box. That might be the easiest way to go. Good luck! _________________ a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Ah, you're already using Thunderbird. Just install Thunderbird on Gentoo then copy over your mbox files from Windows and you should be good to go. You can see where they need to go by examining the default directory structure in Thunderbird (start in /home/your_user_name/.thunderbird and go from there). Why Thunderbird doesn't seem to have more options for importing mail easily, I'll never know. _________________ a^2 + b^2 = c^2
