Anyone know of a good login manager which I can select what window manager I want to use? I want to be able to select between IceWM and KDE for a bit. (Without having to edit the rc.conf file that is).
I'm using KDM at the moment, which is kinda nice, but can't allow me to choose what WM I want to use. _________________ AMD64 3200+, 1024MB RAM, Gentoo Linux

Can it do it? I was considering emerging it, but then went to the GDM site and I couldn't see that it could do it... Mmm, i'll go for it. See what happens! Lol! _________________ AMD64 3200+, 1024MB RAM, Gentoo Linux

Mmmm now I notice that actually...
But I have no options in Login Manager under Control Panel in KDE to change the options of which sessions to show. How can I alter that? Anyway, i've switched to gdm for now. _________________ AMD64 3200+, 1024MB RAM, Gentoo Linux

GDM takes sessions from /usr/share/xsessions/, KDM from /usr/kde/3.2/share/apps/kdm/sessions/. Both use the fdo .desktop format for session files, and the session files are inter-compatible. IIRC the session is listed if the TryExec= command exists, or the Exec= command if there is no TryExec= line. |
