|
|
Hello all!
I have been the proud owner of a gentoo box since 2.6.3 came out. I decided I would update to the latest. I did the 'make oldconfig' and checked using the 'make menuconfig' and everything looked fine. Once I compiled the kernel I added it to the /boot/grub/menu.lst file and rebooted.
I selected the new kernel and the fglrx & nvnet modules failed to load. Ok, they worked before? So I rebooted into my 2.6.3 kernel and everything came up fine.
Is there something I need to check or redo? If you need more info I can provide it. I am thinking I need to remerge the modules?
The only change I made the the .config was adding SCSI emulation and adding the USB 2.0 support.
Any help would be appreciated! TIA! |

yes you need to remerge the modules, everytime you update/change your kernel you need to recompile your modules as well. You also might want to give the forcedeth driver a shot for your onboard NIC, it's in the kernel under the NIC drivers section. _________________ "we should make it a law that all geeks have dates" - Linus |

Are you refering to the reverse engineered nForce net driver?
EDIT: The reverse engineered driver worked! |
