Ive been trying to get mplayer to work with Gnome (2.4 kernel) but when I open the program with video I get the following errors
| Code: | | cannot initialise video driver |
| Code: | | could not initialise video filters (-vop) or video output (-vo) |
following the advice on another forum I tried running gmplayer as root, but got the following error
| Code: | | sorry this color depth is not enough |
the only file type I have available right now iis divX and that is what I am trying to open.
Im guessing there is a problem with the video driver, but as a new user Im not sure how to correct/configure the driver settings
any help is greatly appreciated |

| Which video driver did you use? If you didn't specify the -vo argument at all, try running mplayer with "-vo help" to see which drivers are available. |
