Can't login to gnome 2.6 as a regular user?

when I try to login to gnome 2.6 via gdm as a regular user it says your login as has lasted less then 10seconds and kicks me back to the login screen? i Just finished installing it I added my username to the automatic login on gdm anyone help me out here

Try to ckeck that your user as got the right to access your home directory.
Use chown and chgrp to change user and group.
I hope it can help you.
