Framebuffer Help....PLEASE!!

I'm using a NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200 and just emerged glx and nvidia-kernel. All config'd ok.....i see splash screen.....i get TVM......i go to kill X and my screen don't go bak to the console.....it just has really big green sqaures sometimes purple which I'm assuming is the font. Any ideas?

I'm using kernel-2.6.4 and the nvidia driver 4496 i think. Not the newer one. Could that be the problem. Also i saw something bout stopping framebuffer support for console and I did but it still happened. I think I recompiled the kernel. You just do the exact steps you did in setting the kernel up right? Thanx!

I've heard its the framebuffer. How do I correct this. I disabled it in the kernel and compiled it but I still see a fb.o file bein compiled in and get bootsplash penguin. I am usin 5336 nvid driver i think. Is ther a way to correct this and still keep my bootsplash?

if i get what ur saying u want to kill framebuffer but keep bootsplash. this isnt possible as bootsplash uses it. in order to solve the console corruption issue i would suggest that u compile the vesafb framebuffer driver instead of the nvidiafb ( note this has nothing to do with nvidiaglx)
