Ciao a tutti!
ho provato a riemergere baselayout-1.8.6.13-r1 e tutto e andato lisco finche alla fine mi ha chiesto di fare env-update. c'erano circa 25 file da sistemare, io ho scelto di non modificare i pochi file che conosco, gli altri li ha aggiornati tutti. solo che adesso quando avvio mi viene fuori questo:

io non ho capito molto, anche perche lui scrive che passa al runlevel 3 solo verso la fine quindi con rc-update non riesco a fare nulla. quello che mi lascia sconcertato è che alcuni passaggi li fa due volte tipo leggere il file kernel-2.4 e caricare i moduli.
qualcuno mi sa indirizzare verso dove mettere le mani? ho provato a leggere qualche pagina di man e a eseguire quello che dice lui:

ma in pratica nessuno di questi comandi fa nulla. e quindi non so nemmeno cosa cercare di preciso...

Ciao a tutti grazie per i suggerimenti. scusate ma ieri ho avuto dei problemi e non mi sono connesso:
per Myzelf il risultato è questo:

Per fedelialla linea:
ho fatto quello che mi hai suggerito, è arrivato fino alla fine senza errori, ma il problema all'avvio resta.
Per randomaze:
il sistema su per giu non ha nulla che non va tranne che la tastiera a un riavvio e in italiano a quello dopo in inglese (e cosi via... un po' a caso e senza logica talvolta in italiano a altre in inglese). in più quando passo a win mi accorgo che ha cambiato l'ora di sistema. ho scoperto che per il portage la versione che ho messo e masked sto scaricando quella prima non masked, ma dici che se la emergo devo poi riaggiornare tutti i file di config?
Un'ultima domanda: ma linux salva da qualche parte un log con quello che fa prima di passare al runlevel di default e dopo dmesg? perche oggi i messaggi erano un po' cambiati. poi ho provato i vostri suggerimenti e sono tornati esattamente come prima.
grazie mille a tutti x i suggerimenti, provo a downgradare il pacchetto poi vedo. ciao ciao (magari era solo il computer che voleva farmi un pesce d'aprile? però come si suol dire... un bel gioco dura poco!)

Anch'io ho emerso baselayout ed ho avuto dei semplici problemi di layout tastiera ecc... tutti riparabili in una manciata di sencondi. L'unica cosa che non capisco e che in realtà non so se sia collegata al fatto che ho riemerso baselayout è che non mi va + il su. Il mio utente è nel gruppo wheel ma come provo a fare un su - o su root mi dice Authentication failure... |

Ciao scusa se ti rispondo solo ora. a parte i miei problemi il sistema funziona correttamente al comando su, solo che io sono una schiappa totale e allora non so nemmeno cosa suggerirti. per quel che riguarda me avevo installato a mano un programma di un tizio per il boot splash che mi aveva modificato i file di avvio e credo che centri qualcosa con i problemi che ho avviato aggiornando, di più non so cosa dire, scusami buona fortuna Nic _________________ Account Jabber: ultimodruido@jabber.linux.it |

Ho risolto!!
Stavo impazzendo, avevo modificato tutti i file di configurazione per il su, andando a finire anche in /etc/pam.d/ finch'è non sono imbattuto in questo post:

ed ho risolto il problema con un semplice
chmod 4755 /bin/su
non ci posso ancora credere
