Ok, so here's my problem. (FYI, I'm using the 2004.0 x86 Universal ISO)
I'm attempting a fresh install on the picturebook's drive. Currently, it has three partitions (one windows and two linux from a suse install). I've been following the guide linked to on this site, but I've achieved absolutely nothing. I've tried booting with the various CDs, but in each instance, either I'll find a lack of compatible modules, or encounter a Kernel Panic (centering around an inability to mount a filesystem, I believe). In addition to the lack of modules, when I do get the system to actually load, I've found that any of the commands listed in the guide, whether they be fdisk, /sbin/ifconfig, or hell, any other applications, don't function at all. I simply get "not found" errors.
I was looking around, though, and thought that perhaps the lack of modules is due to a missing 'net' folder in my lib/modules/2.4.24-xfs-re/kernel/drivers path. I'm still pretty new to all of this, so I'm probably missing something important. here (either in my readings, or my downloading)
Right now, I'm just stranded. Can't do anything at all.
System information:
Sony Picturebook C1VPK
Transmeta TM5600 processor (300/667)
128MB RAM
12GB Hard Drive
PCMCIA CD-ROM/Netgear FA411 (Natsemi module) (swapped when use is required)
Linksys USB100TX USB Nic (Pegasus) |

does SUSE work, then?
you could try to install Gentoo by using a knoppix cd to boot, I believe there's a guide on the gentoo site. |

It sounds to me like you might have a bad CD or something. I'd probably download a new boot CD and try that. |

Hi
Check the MD5 sum on the iso you currently have, because if thats correct then there must have been CD burning errors or some other freak error.
