I am a new linux user and was just rockin with gentoo, I am using Gnome for desktop. I was trying to add the osx starter bar by dragging and dropping as a user. It didn't work out as planned, I tried to delete the mess I made, but lost my starter bar. I went to the trash to retrieve it but it was gone. I cannot find a terminal to bring up now, and when I do find it, does anyone know how I can restore the starter bar?

Thanks a million if someone can help.....

If you delete your .gnome2 and .gconf folders, your gnome settings will reset and your bars will return the next time you login. As for bringing up a terminal, just rightclick on the desktop and click "Open Terminal."

gnome-vfs is a gnome module...

it lets you treat 'virtual' folders as local folders, eg. ftp folders, or the start-here:/// folder, ...
